Hellloooooo. The end (and beginning) of another week, eh? I don’t have a recipe to share, but here are some easy meals we’ve enjoyed over the past week or so…
Greek wraps with lamb, feta, greek yogurt, cucumber, onions, and tomato:
Garden pasta—linguine with tomatoes, mushrooms, kale, spinach, and lots of garlic, parmesan + olive oil:
Super easy red beans and rice with sausaage:
Frittata with veggies and farmers’ market bacon:
I doubt any of these meals took longer than twenty minutes to make. Suck it, Rachael Ray.
Other news: I got a woven wrap! I never had one with Lila, so this is all new to me, but I love it so far. I never liked the Moby because I never feel like I’m getting it tight enough—I’ll get the baby into it, and then after 15 minutes, I feel like he’s dropped 10 inches. But the woven wrap isn’t stretchy at all—I’ve been wearing it on our evening walks, cooking dinner and I wore it to the botanical gardens today for a few hours straight, and he was great in it! I’m just using the most straightforward carry (and apparently there are HUNDREDS…), so I still have a lot to learn, but I love it so far—and so does Charlie!
On Saturday, I headed over to our old neighborhood to run a 5k with a friend—the Cookie Dash. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this race—I’ve been running off and on, certainly more and more frequently. But some days are better than others. I decided that my ultimate goal was to try for at least 9 minute miles. And I did it—I kept an 8:35 pace, finishing in 26:40—pretty good! And, it was a smallish race, so I actually ended up placing third in my age group—something I was NOT expecting. The first and second place women in my group were at 21 and 22 minutes, haha. I guess I lucked out! And I got this super-cool medal:
Other than that…we’ve been doing a lot of porch-swingin’…a lot of finger chewin’ (I think Charlie might be getting his first tooth?!?)…and some working in the yard, trying to get the house looking its best:
Have a great Monday!
