Lila Turns Four

Not sure how we went from this:

…but I guess that’s how life goes.  I’m trying not to get too emotional about it, but sometimes it seems like time is just flying by.  I can’t believe I have a four year-old…and a four month-old too!

To celebrate Lila’s birthday at school, I asked her if she wanted to help me make a treat to take to her class.  We bought cupcakes last year, but she’s been really interested in helping me in the kitchen these days, so I figured she might like making something more than just buying cupcakes at the store.

After looking at Pinterest together, she decided that she wanted us to make cake pops.  Yayyyyy. Winking smile

We bought the stuff at Michael’s and made the cake pops on Wednesday afternoon.  It actually went okay, considering.  There were quite a few sprinkles to vacuum up when we were done, but they turned out pretty cute and she had a lot of fun making them:

On her birthday, we woke up early and opened presents…and then had a packed day of a celebration at school, ballet pictures, and finally a birthday dinner of taco takeout and cupcakes.  Tomorrow, she’ll have a birthday party with her school friends—whew!

Four is sassy and sweet so far.  Smile

Happy Birthday, my sweet Lila Scott!

It has been a fun four years and she’s such a delight for the whole family. It looks like she is having a fun birthday.
