Weekend Update

April 5, 2016

Hey there!  Monday is my long day (I teach until 8:30), so I’m happy to have another one behind us.  We had a great weekend– it really feels like spring out there!

Lila is playing t-ball, which is the cutest thing ever.  She had her first game on Saturday.  There was a LOT of raw talent on display.  I’ll just leave it at that.

On Sunday, we went to church and then spent the afternoon spring cleaning…EVERYTHING.  I went through all our closets, we pulled some stuff out of the attic that was there when we moved in, we updated Charlie’s clothes from 0-3 months to 3-6 months (sob)…it was a really productive afternoon.  So, it was really nice to sit down to a nice little dinner after the afternoon of cleaning and organizing.  This was Lila’s idea– she requested a tablecloth, napkin rings…the whole nine yards.  Even though we were having leftover frozen lasagna, the meal felt like a fancy one. 😉

Later that night, somebody rolled over for the very first time.  I actually snapped this picture *right* after he rolled over– we were cheering for him and he burst into the biggest smile:

Finally, for lunch today I had this delicious salad– something I very rarely eat these days for lunch.  I get into lunch ruts where I eat some variation of the exact same thing every day– lately it’s been a turkey sandwich or wrap.  Like, every day.  Without fail.

It was nice to have something different.  I massaged some kale with olive oil and salt, and then added edamame, cucumber, carrot, amino acids, and this trail mix that I don’t like to eat on its own but was actually delicious in this salad.  It’s a mix of cranberries, sunflower seeds, pepitas, and pecans.  Sounds random, I know, but it added a really nice little crunch and sweetness to the salad.  Eaten with a side of Charlie:

Good rut buster!

Hope your week is off to a good start!

What a good looking salad! Lila looks like she’s a natural. I expect she’ll be a star on the team. And, congratulations to Charlie. He was so close when they stayed with us. I knew it was just a matter of days before he rolled on over (glad he waited so you guys could enjoy the accomplishment!).
