San Antonio Recap
Ryan and I don’t teach in the summer, so we typically like to pack it full of trips—we’re big travel lovers, and we’ve tried to keep that up, even now that we have Lila. Traveling with a kid is definitely a different experience than traveling as a couple—but not bad different! Lila is a good little traveler, and I definitely am of the belief that the more you travel with kids, the easier it becomes.
And movies don’t hurt either:
Can I just say how much easier air travel is now that Lila will finally sit still and watch a movie or tv show? We visited San Antonio last week, and she spent both plane rides on the way there and back perfectly content, watching Brave and The Little Mermaid. #winning
The only downside is that she doesn’t quite understand the concept of headphones yet—about every ten minutes, she would turn to me with a big smile and yell “I WATCHING BRAVE! I WATCHING BRAVE!” Sorry, seatmates.
We were going to San Antonio because Ryan had a conference, but San Antonio is a pretty easy drive from Shreveport, where my family is, so they ended up joining us! As always, Lila was super-excited to spend time with her cousins. Well, mostly with Sophie:
Showing off their Disney princess nail polish mani/pedis…
Poor Baby D was left to hang with the adults while the girls ran around the house squealing, shrieking, and bossing each other around. Sorry buddy.
We had kind of crummy weather—lots of rain, which is really unusual for San Antonio! Still, we were able to get out every day—we went to the zoo:
…which the kids loved. And of course, we visited the river walk downtown and the big market, where we picked up dresses for the girls:
All in all, it was a great trip! Other than that, we’ve just been relaxing—going to the gym, reading, playdates—the summer usual! We’ve also been potty training, which I might write about in another post. Things are going…well, they’re going. Some days are great…some days not so much.
Hope your June is off to a good start!
