Two posts in one day?!?  Wha???

It’s been a while since I’ve done a two-a-day (see what I did there?  A football reference, since it’s the Super Bowl and all.  I GET SPORTS.), but I’m trying to get back into the habit of posting more, even if it’s just our boring old day-to-day lives.

So what did we do today?  We DID make it outside—we took Lila to the park, and while she and Ryan played on the playground, I took the dogs for a hike around some trails nearby.  I’m glad we got out, because after about an hour, the skies opened up into rain, and it hasn’t stopped raining since.  Blerg.

The rest of the day was filled with usual Sunday stuff—nap for Lila, class prep and grading for me and Ryan, plus a post-nap trip to the mall to burn off some energy at the indoor play area. 

Around 5:45, we came home to fix some dinner:


Turkey burgers (topped with sauteed mushrooms), grapes, and sweet potato fries that made an appearance about 10 minutes into the meal because we got them in the oven too late.  Still delicious.

So, I wrote about buying a fit bit here.  Now that I’ve had it for a while, I have to say—I’ve been surprised by how hard it is some days to meet 10,000 steps!  Between dog walks, being up at school, and chasing after Lila, I thought for sure I’d have no trouble reaching 10,000 steps every day, but some days I don’t even come close!

So—goal for the week—reach 10,000 steps every day.  I’ve met the goal for today…just barely:


….and I have to be honest—I just picked up around the house like a crazy woman to get to 10,000 for today.  It’s HARD when the weather is bad!  But, I’m going to try this week…so y’all have to keep me accountable.  Winking smile

    I am a big fan of the every day stuff. I totally want one of these fitness devices. I’m interested in both the steps and the sleep parts. Are you training for any more races?

      It’s been interesting for sleep, too! I wake up a lot more in the middle of the night than I realized!

      There’s a half marathon in April that I’m toying with running…but man, my desire to run has gone down so much! I guess I’ll decided this month though…gotta start training if I want to do it!

    I always forget about sautéing mushrooms to top my veg burgers. Though, they tend to slide off making a huge annoying mess.

    I want to get a fit! I think, like you, I assume that I walk more than I actually do! And your burger looks delicious!
