Friday in the Gardens
Hi friends! Friday is wrapping up here with some leftovers…Jeni’s ice cream…and Orange is the New Black.
After teaching this morning, Ryan and I took Lila out to the Huntsville Botanical Gardens for a late afternoon activity. It’s one of our favorite places in Huntsville—so much fun, especially in the warmer months. Much fun was had by all.
Notice anything about Ryan? Besides the fact that he looks like someone straight out of the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” video? He shaved his beard!! Even though it was my idea (um, after a few cocktails…), we’re both still trying to decide how we feel about it.
Lila and I splashed around in the “pollywog” pond…which was quite warm by 4:00 in the afternoon:
…and then we headed out to see Lily, the giant cow:
She was really excited to see the cow:
…but then, once we got a little closer, she got cold feet.
Luckily, she warmed up pretty quickly.
Before we headed home, we explored some dinosaur bones and fossil footprints. You know—the usual:
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; one of the things we LOVE about Huntsville is all of the fun things there are to do with kids here. The Botanical Gardens are no exception!
Hope your weekend is off to a great start!
