Vacation Weekend

July 22, 2013

Hi friends!  I hope you had a good weekend! We definitely did.

We spent a lot of time swimming, both in our pool and in the bay behind the house:

Lila is finally LOVING the water, which is so much fun for us.  It’s like something has clicked in her, and now when she’s in the water, she keeps looking at us, like, “Can you believe how much fun water is?!?  How did I not know that?!?”

I’m interested to see if she’s more into playing in the splash pools around town and our community baby pool, now that she’s gotten a little more used to being in the water.

Something else Lila is interested in?  Baby Dylan:

She finds him verrrrry interesting.  She’s actually sweet with him—she gives him kisses and “shares” her blankets and toys with him—aka, places them right on his head, and not too gently.  Sorry, big guy.

Of course, Lila is *most* interested in Sophie:

She thinks Sophie is the coolest.  Winking smile

We had some great meals this weekend, too.

My dad cooked this crawfish etouffee:

We also had sweet corn risotto, topped with scallops, cooked by yours truly:

Hope you had a great weekend! Happy Monday!

I am in love with your swimsuit. Ideally, I’d love to wear one like Lila, but let’s be realistic. Red is really my color.

Also the word etoufee is just plain fancy.
