Wrapping Up Seattle

July 8, 2013

Well, we’re home!  After 4.5 hours in the air with this little traveler:

…we’re happy to be back! Lila actually did great on both the trip out and the trip back—as you can see, she spent part of the flight resting, and played pretty happily for the rest of the flight.  Whew!

The travel is always worth it, of course.  It’s hard being so far away from both our families, but we’re extremely lucky that we have the time to travel in the summer…it makes the distance a little more bearable.  Plus, we get to do all sorts of fun things—like take family trips to the Seattle zoo:

We’ve had a zoo-tastic couple of weeks.  Lila, as always, loved seeing the animals.   Plus, she got to ride a carousel:

…which is always a treat.

We also fit in some exercise—Ryan, his sister Lynette and I ran the Mill Creek “Run of the Mill” 5K on Saturday morning.  It was fun, and we all did pretty well (despite the fact that Ryan and I had overindulged in adult beverages the night before…whoops):

Other than that, we basically enjoyed the Seattle sun:

…before heading back to Huntsville, where apparently it’s been raining all week!

Well, it’s back to the grind here.  Lila had her 15 month check-up today—95% for height, 50% for weight—that girl is gonna be tall!

She’s sleeping her shots off, and we’re having lunch—hope you have a great day!

I was thinking she looked tall! Awesome that shes doing so well. I can’t wait until Kay’s next appointment to find out where she is on the charts. What a fun trip.

I think it’s so great that you guys can do this during the summer. Sounds like it was a really nice trip. Love Seattle so I might be jealous 😉 Glad you made it home safely.

It was fun to read the recap and see the pictures. We are glad you enjoyed the trip and that you were able to come.

You and Ryan are both tall so that’s not surprising. She already has long legs!!

At the risk of sounding like a total weirdo (although I think by now we both know it’s kinda true)… your kid is so stinkin’ cute!
