Yo Gabba Gabba!

February 21, 2013

Sophie:

…is a big Yo Gabba Gabba fan.  Big.  HUGE!

So when we found out that the Yo Gabba Gabba live show would be coming to Huntsville, we were pretty sure we could convince Katherine, Kevin and Sophie to head on over for a visit. Smile

The show was last night, and I have to admit—I was a little nervous.  It was kind of late for Lila—6:00, which is right around dinner and bedtime for her.  Also, Katherine and Kevin had been to a show with Sophie once before, and they said it was pretty loud and crazy.  I didn’t want her to freak out! But, we decided to give it a shot, and that if she ended up getting upset, we could just leave if we needed to.

But luckily….

she loved it!  She was basically mesmerized by the whole thing, which isn’t a shock.  Dancing robots, exploding confetti, neon lights—what’s not to be mesmerized by?

She also did great staying out late—after the show, which ended at 7:00 (typically her bedtime), we headed to a special VIP room so that Sophie could meet the gang:

…pretty swanky, right? Winking smile

Lila was more interested in the balloons they had scattered around the room:

And then we went out for pizza after that! She ended up not going to bed until about 8:45, which is WAY past her bedtime.  This obviously isn’t something that I want to make a habit of, but it is nice to know that she can hang out a little later and not have a big meltdown.  Again, it’s just another thing that has me feeling like she’s moving further away from being a baby, and closer and closer to being a little kid.  It makes me sad, but it also makes me excited to think about all the fun we’ll be having.

Hope you have a great Thursday! We’re saying goodbye to our visitors today, so I guess it’s back to reality.  Sigh.

I remember the first time we took the boys to see Sesame Street Live…they went crazy for it! Well, Jay was more of a fan, but Max was a trooper. (Max is not easily amused by kid stuff…yeah, he’s a strange one). Sounds like a great memory and I’m so glad you guys had so much fun!
