Hi friends! First of all, Ryan says thanks for all of the great comments on his dad post—he thought about what he wanted to say in that post for quite a while, so he was really happy with it. He’s a pretty sweet dad.
We returned from our Shreveport trip on Saturday afternoon, after an 8.5 hour car ride with little miss. I was a bit worried about the car ride before our trip, but Lila did GREAT both coming and going—maybe 45 minutes of fussiness altogether, and other than that she just slept and kicked around from her car seat. She finally seems to have gotten over her hatred of said car seat, which we are incredibly grateful for.
I know it’s a little late to recap the whole trip, but here are a few of my favorite shots from our last few days in Shreveport:
Lila’s expression in that last photo cracks me up…not quite mastering the whole “smile for the camera” concept quite yet. 🙂
Now that we’re home, we’re trying to commit to eating healthy (again). We have a month until our beach vacation in Nantucket, and we’re really going to try to cut back on the sugar and eat healthy meals until then. Last night, we got off to a good start with a fiesta shrimp bowl:
I sauteed red pepper, purple onion, shrimp, and corn in a little olive oil and seasoned with chili powder and cumin; then, we served the "stir fry” over a brown rice/grain mix from the Seeds of Change line. We ate it with chips, salsa, and lots of cilantro!
Glad to be back to regular blogging! Hope your week is off to a great start!
