Newlywed, Newly Veg: Hawaiian Style

January 19, 2011

I think we can all agree that adding “Hawaiian Style” to something is always a good idea.

Case in point:

Ohhhh, to be at the Hawaiian Hideaway right now, listening to the sweet serenades of Kelly’s grandfather as he strums his ukulele.

Not going to happen.

But—we can still EAT like we’re in Hawaii:

Last night, after returning home from a blustery day up at campus, I whipped up this quick stir-fry with pineapple, edamame, and red bell pepper, served over whole wheat couscous.  If only Brian Handsome Hanson were there to enjoy it with us.

Don’t worry…dinner may be over, but we’re still in the Hawaiian spirit over here:

Well, we’re about to go return the haunted tiki statue that Ryan stole from an archeological dig site the other day.

Wait.  Now I’m confusing my Hawaiian specials.

That stir fry sounds SO good. I don’t like pineapple in sweets but definitely in savory foods covered in soy sauce. Mmm.

I never watched Saved By The Bell, but who doesn’t remember the Brady Bunch episodes when they go to Hawaii and stumble upon ancient caves.

Ha! I watch Saved By the Bell every morning and the Hawaiian special was recently on. It’s sad that I can’t get enough of it.
