Morning, Pumpkin!

September 23, 2010

You know those blog posts where people claim to have created a dish that’s going to change your life?

Yeah, this is one of those.

This seriously tastes JUST like pumpkin pie filling…or melted pumpkin pie ice cream…or what I imagine heaven to taste like.  And besides being delicious, it’s incredibly simple: 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, 1 cup almond milk, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, a sprinkle of cinnamon and nutmeg, and stevia for sweetening.  How freaking easy is that?

The only way I can see this being improved is by topping it with a little…oh, I don’t know, WHIPPED CREAM?!?  I’ll get right on that!  🙂

Happy Thursday!

I sitting here drinking a cup of coffee as I read your blog. I wonder how yummy that would be with some coffee!! But that’s because I think everything goes with coffee 🙂

    Did you serve it chilled?

  3. September 23, 2010 3:08 pm

    I’m definitely making this!!

  4. September 23, 2010 3:33 pm

Just like the smoothie I posted on Sunday!!! I am obsessed and can’t stop drinking it 🙂

That looks delicious and I love the color. This, of course, brings me to Sandra Lee. I don’t understand why you don’t want to emulate her. Don’t you think this drink would look, therefore be, more delicious if you bathed your kitchen (and yourself) in the colors of autumn, strew autumn leaves around, made a kitchen curtain out of corn husks and hung pumpkins in various sizes from the rafters? Just asking! = )

    Best,
    Bonnie

I will let you know by tomorrow if my life has changed or not. This looks good! Although, I only have chocolate protein powder. Do you think that’d work? It probably will become an ugly color.

Oh this SOUNDS like it would be life changing…yesterday I mixed pumpkin with choc protein and it was insane. I’ll bet vanilla in smoothie form is just as heavenly 🙂

mmm..definitely sounds and looks a lil bit like heaven! I need to try this…too bad I used all my canned pumpkin for my muffins yesterday!

  13. September 23, 2010 6:39 pm

I believe you! The pumpkin/maple/almond butter mix I used to top my waffles this morning reminded me of pumpkin pie. I even thought just drinking some pumpkin up would be amazing. And then here I am…reading that same idea with an awesome mix all ready for me to whip up. 😀

For some reason pumpkin’s SO not popular over here.. the only pumpkin products we’ve got are real pumpkins 😉

    Your smoothie looks so yummy!

Also, did you know that pumpkin in French is citrouille? Hard to believe that pumpkin could get more cool, but it CAN.
