State College Day

August 11, 2010

Hello, hello! This will be a quick post—we’re trying to enjoy our time with our guests as much as possible before they head back to DC tomorrow!

This morning, we had a leisurely breakfast and morning at the house, and then headed up to State College for some lunch, provided by the ever-delicious Otto’s:

Apricot Ale:

After lunch, we walked around State College for a while, shopping and showing off the Penn State campus:

Will loved the fish in the aquarium a the student center:

We ended the afternoon at Meyer’s Dairy:

Alas, we didn’t see the famous Meyer’s Dairy cows…but we did see lots of ice cream!

Now I’m off to a meeting up at campus, and I’m going to meet up with them in a few hours at an Altoona Curve baseball game!

See ya!

What ever kind of ice cream that is, I want some. As long as it isn’t veggie ice cream.

Apricot Ale? Sounds good. Enjoy the baseball game. We were going to try to go to one tonight but the heat index is 105 right now. Um – not fun.

I am so jealous of your meal. I’ve been on an apricot kick lately, and anything with mushrooms is perfect in my book. Have fun at the game.

I so love your blog. It always reminds me of home! I remember going on a feild trip to Meyer’s Farms and milking their cows haha

I haven’t been to Otto’s yet, but looking forward to getting there at some point!

The dairy cows at Meyer’s are awesome – we saw them all herded together one day right next to the parking lot, it was very unusual to see them right there. They were so calm and clean. They paid no attention to all the humans that were gawking at them!
