One Last Hike (in i-phone photos)
We’ve done a pretty great job taking pictures on our hikes so far…so imagine my disappointment when I realized that yesterday, on our final hike, we’d forgotten the memory card. Doh!
Not to worry—our phone cameras are so great these days, we were still able to take some pretty great pictures!
Yesterday, we hiked Blood Mountain:
Great name for a hike, right? Not ominous at all.
This hike was probably the hardest of all the hikes we did on this trip—lots of steep climbs, boulders to scramble over, etc. Lila stayed in the backpack for a while, and then hiked about the last mile. It was slow-going for a while:
…but the view at the top made it all worth it!
We agreed that this was definitely one of our favorite hikes of the trip—the view at the top was awesome. I love it that Lila is able to hike on her own now, too—it makes it easier on us, obviously, to not have to carry her in the backpack the whole way. But, more than that, we (obviously) love the outdoors, and I like to think that we’re instilling that love in her as well.
We’re packing up this morning—why do trips always go by so fast?? Hopefully we’ll be back soon—Blue Ridge has definitely impressed us!
But now…back to Alabama. Have a great day!
