Greetings! Given all of the travel that we did this summer, I guess it’s only fitting that we spent our last weekend of the summer…on a trip!
A short trip, that is—we flew on Friday morning to Shreveport, and came back to Huntsville on Sunday afternoon. But the short trip was worth it—we had a sip ‘n’ see for sweet Baby Dylan on Friday, at my parents’ house; then, on Saturday, we went to a baby shower for one of my best friends! She’s having a baby boy in October, and I was so glad that we were able to come into town to celebrate with everyone!
As is usually the case with these short weekend trips, I didn’t take very many pictures. But here are a few from Friday and Saturday night—we really did have fun!
As you can guess, what with the busy weekend (and late nights out, ha), exercise did not happen when we were traveling! Thus, my workout log for last week is pretty lacking, ahem.
Sunday, August 11th through Saturday, August 17th
Monday: ran 3 miles
Tuesday: ran 2 miles + strength training
Wednesday: ran 3 miles
Saturday: walked 3 miles
Total Mileage: 8 miles…OOPS!
Eh, it was an off week. I got a good run in this morning, so I feel back on track already. My half-marathon training is going to start really picking up soon, which I’m a little nervous about, but mostly just excited about! Signing up for a race is always good motivation.
We have a long meeting this afternoon, and then a welcome back party tonight for our university’s College of Liberal Arts—should be fun!
Hope you had a good weekend!
