Swinging Through the Week
Sorry, cheesy title. But I thought “Swingers” might be a little inappropriate for a post containing ridiculously cute photos of my child.
Yesterday…yesterday was just one of those days. One of those Mondays where it immediately feels like you never even had a weekend. One of those Mondays where all of your students have “forgotten” to do the assigned reading, and your office smells like burnt coffee, and speaking of coffee—where the HELL is it??—and you realize that you forgot to pack a lunch, and your shoes are rubbing blisters on your heels even though you’ve owned and worn the shoes for at least a dang year.
UGH.
I came home in the middle of the afternoon and took a little comfort in hanging out with my sweet girl for a few hours:
…but it was one of those afternoons when it was SUPER hard to leave again. Some days, I’m excited about teaching my Monday night class. Yesterday wasn’t one of them.
At 8:30, I came home, ate this delicious dinner that Ryan had made:
(recipe coming? I think?)
…and crawled into bed, thankful that the day was over.
When I woke up today, I vowed that it would be different. I wanted to make today a good day—a really, really good day. And so far, it has been.
This morning, I sweated my butt off in a hot yoga class. Then, when I got home, Ryan and I decided to try out a first with Lila: swinging.
I might have been a little more excited than Lila:
But after a few swings, she caught on to how fun it was:
It’s safe to say she liked it.
We walked her to a park right by our house, and spent the morning swinging…crawling…pulling up…and just generally enjoying the gorgeous weather—our fall has been so pretty this year.
Really, we just sat in the grass and loved it:
They make my heart smile. Thank God for days like today that make up for all the crappy Mondays in the world.
I hope you’re having a great Tuesday!

Peanuts just make life better. She is so darn cute. Glad today is a better day!
Love. ,love, love that little girl and can’t wait to see her in person again. She is so expressive.
She’s such a cutie pie how could that not make your day better?!
Adorable pics, such a sweet post!
What a great time!’ Can. not. wait. to meet that young lady.
Seriously, there is nothing better than spending time with your family! Definitely makes up for a crappy day. Looks like a perfect afternoon Anna!
