13.1 miles later…
We’re still standing!
…and even acting like jackasses and making faces as we neared the finish line:
…well, okay—me more than her. That’s a sign of a good race, right? And let me just say, that’s not the appendage I really wanted to use, but I kept it clean. It was a family setting, after all:
I think Sophie was very proud of her mom! And, can I just say, props to my sister for running a half marathon eight months after giving birth! Talk about a superstar!
Before the race even started, we were feeling pretty good:
…and the fun continued from there! We finished the race in just over 2 hours and three minutes…pretty dang good!
I’m so glad I was able to run this race with my sister! It was a great time…and hopefully the first of many sister races to come!
I hope you’re having a great Saturday!

That is awesome! Congrats to both of you…and dang your sister just had a baby 8 months ago…she looks great and that is an amazing job on the run! I am so glad you are enjoying some family time right now! I can’t wait for mine!
Congrats to both of you!! Enjoy the rest of the weekend !!
Congrats to both of you!!
That would be fun to run with a friend/sister. It looks like you had a great time. You certainly did well! Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
It was definitely fun to have a partner!!
Congrats!
Awh well done!! It looks like you had a fab race
And I gotta say – you and your sister look SO alike!!
We get that a lot
First of many sister races indeed!! Proud of us!!
Congratulations to the both of you!!!
Yay, congrats and great time! Awesome pics, I have the same Nike pants and they’re my favorite for races.
Congrats!! Lots of water in the next couple days, plus some stretching and walking. That is an awesome accomplishment!
And I feel your Sophie-stranger pain. In another year or two though it will be gone and she’ll look forward to seeing you. I’m shocked that though I only see my nieces and nephews a few times a year, I’ve somehow become a cool aunt, someone they can’t wait to see and show all their treasures. But it was tough for me too during the stage they were afraid of me, seeing me as a stranger though they were so closely held in my heart.
Have fun in LA!
Congrats! Looks like you had a fun time!
I love how y’all aren’t afraid to be goofy! I wonder if my sister and I will ever do a half marathon… doubtful. have fun in Louisana!
Way to go!!
