Who Let the Dogs Out?

March 16, 2010

Who, who, who, who?

I apologize if that song is stuck in your head for the rest of the day. :-)

This morning, the sun came out SHINING!!! Yay!!!

Inspired by this lady and her runs with her beautiful dog Sadie, I hit the streets with a new running partner: Ella!

dog park 074

I’ve never run with Ella before, mostly because I’ve been worried that she might trip me or make the run too difficult.  But, after a few minutes, she settled in right to my left, and kept a steady pace for the entire run! She was a great running partner…especially on the hills!

We did 2.3 miles, and then looped back to the house to pick up Ryan and Baxter for another mile.  Poor Baxter—Ryan said that he was howling the entire time we were gone!

Today is a beautiful day, and it looks like it’s going to hold for at least the rest of the week.  I don’t even care about the weekend, because I’m heading down to Baltimore for…Fit Bloggin’ !!!! Are you going?? I’m really excited for it!

Lunch today was quick:  a purple smoothie (blueberries, almond milk, maca, and amazing grass chocolate), apple with almond butter (I FINALLY got my paws on some Barney Butter—I really like it!):

…and a new product for dessert

Attune Chocolate!

blog 006

Have you heard of this? You’ve probably seen it around some of the other blogs.  It’s a delicious chocolate bar with probiotics built in, just like in yogurt.  The probiotics help with digestions and general wellness.  Each bar is only 90 calories, so they’re perfect for a sweet treat after any meal.  The chocolate tastes great too—honestly, just like any regular dark chocolate bar! I’ll definitely be buying these myself—I’m a fan! You can check out more about them here, at the Attune website.

Okay…I’m off to teach my classes.  Then, back home for a fun GREEN meal for St. Patty’s Day Eve.

Make it a great one!

I like it alright…I’m still not sure why people go SO crazy for it!

I would love to go to Fitbloggin. Sigh, must work instead. Glad you had a good run with your dog. We’re still trying to get our maniacs into the groove. I think it we took them one at a time it’d be easier. I’m still so scared of being tripped up. Ours like to race each other then us!

I always wish that my dog was younger and more in shape so that I could take him running, but he can barely make it a half of a mile without wheezing! It’s one of my life’s goals to have a big beautiful Great Dane or something to bring along with me.

What are you doing at Fitbloggin’? Are you presenting?! Have fun!
I bet Ella loves being your running dog! Jon’s trying to take Diego with him on his 10k training runs, and I’ve been taking him, but lazy dog is done after about a mile! I like running with the company though — especially when I get winded, cause I talk to Diego like I’m pumping him up and it gets me going!
    Enjoy the sunshine!

Hey Emo! Not presenting, just attending! It should be a good time :-)

Lol– I remember when Jon used to run with Diego when he was just a young dog…and when we would take him and Ella to the park together, Diego would poop out after about five minutes!! That guy…

      When is y’all’s 10k? That’s exciting!

Haha! Jon touts Diego has newly lazy, but now I know the truth.
Jon’s doing a 10k at the end of March and I’m doing a “Run Like a Girl” 10k in May. It’s women only, so I thought it would be a good introduction to races.
        Have fun in Baltimore!

    I’ve never heard of fitbloggin’!
Going to NYC this weekend though, so probably wouldn’t make it.

I cannot run with Murphy. I constantly trip over or step on him.

I want to go to fitbloggin, especially since I’m from MD, but I’m running a half-marathon on Sunday.

Ahh I so wish I was going to FitBloggin, sounds like it’ll be great! My old dog was a great running partner too, I miss him! The more you run with him, the better you’ll be together!
