Chilling Out Maxin’ Relaxin’ All Cool
Pretty much describes my current state of existence.
How goes your afternoon? Have you had a good day so far? (I always feel like Mr. Rogers when I ask questions like that on the blog
! )
We’ve had a good day so far! This morning, I had a quick breakfast of cereal and fruit, and then Ryan and I headed out on another run. We did 3 miles together (with only one walk break!), and then I continued on for another 3, for about six miles total. It’s SO much more fun to run outside than on the treadmill, especially with this great weather that we’ve been having! I just find that the time passes so much more quickly! Love it.
I got back, showered, and messed around for a while, and before we knew it, it was time for lunch!
I made use of the pasta leftovers from Saturday night and enjoyed a BIG spinach salad, topped with pasta, grape tomatoes, yellow peppers, red onions (if you microwave them for about 30 seconds, it totally takes away from the sharp oniony taste of raw onions), and balsamic dressing. Yum! I also enjoyed a bowl of grapes for dessert.
In a reflective mood:
Our dining companion:
What a goober.
Katherine and Kevin brought Sophie home this morning! It must be so strange to all of a sudden have a tiny little baby in your home…but I bet they’re doing just fine!
We’re bringing them dinner tonight, and I think Ryan and I are going to make them some sort of cookies, so I’m perusing recipes at the moment. Any suggestions?
Hope you’re having a great day! See you for dinner!

Your pictures are amazing!!!
Shootin some b-ball outside the school
I could sing the whole opening to Fresh Prince of Belaire! Made me giggle when I saw your title…..
That looks so good! I hate raw red onions so I might have to check that out…

I ran 16miles this morning, then ate homemade banana and peanut butter bread -! Doesn’t get much better

YUMMY looking salad.
I CANNOT run on a treadmill but once I get outside I can go on and on and on and on ! Totally a mental block thing…
Right now, I would give anything for peanut butter cookies with reeses in the middle
I have made amazing cookies from Maria at http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com. She has awesome recipes for cookies!
oh that face cracks me up!!! it’s funny, i was just rapping that song the other day in the car…for some reason Nate kept laughing at me…I can’t imagine why
That salad looks great. So glad you’re getting to run outside and enjoying some great weather. I know I’m loving it!
I love these pumpkin cookies: http://www.gling.com/recipes/iced-wonderful-pumpkin-cookies/ even without the icing.
My catering class made white chocolate chip lime cookies for staff recently and they got rave reviews. Call if you want the recipe – my verizon email is down

everyone loves sugar cookies! I like mine frosted, yum!
Geez now I have that song stuck in my head
hahaa. Aw when my friend brought her baby home all she could keep saying was “are you sure I’m allowed to keep her?” hahaaa.
I love the title of your post!! Your pictures are so pretty
Sounds like such a great day. I was just stuck at school doing a chemistry test, not so great but at least it’s over with!!
I have quick an array of cookies in my repertoire
I suggest them all… especially the maple sandwich cookies, but if you’re in a hurry the vegan pb cookies are delicious
I wish I had a baby to go visit! You and Ryan are so cute.
Such a great looking lunch, I love a veggie/pasta combo. Much better than a rich sauce, in my opinion! Good luck to the new parents!
What an awesome looking salad for lunch
And good luck with the cookie baking!!
I can sing that entire song. My parents must be so proud of what I learned in elementary school.
Your doggie is cute.
I will now have that song stuck in my head the rest of the night…
Great salad pics! Such a cute pooch, fun photos.
wow GREAT suggestion on microwaving the red onions. I always have to leave them off because of the “onion-ey” taste.
