California…California…Here We Commmmmme
Nope, unfortunately I’m not taking a California vacation anytime soon. But I am headed for warmer climates in less than a week, so that’ll do.
I had a delicious lunch around 1:00, and the Soap Network was playing…the very first episode of The O.C.!!! It totally made my day. When I was in college, my roommates and I LOVED The O.C., especially that first season. Gotta love that Phantom Planet theme song, right?
This morning, I did work for a few hours, then hopped on the treadmill for a 7 mile run. It was a good one! Right when I was ready to quit, Pandora pumped me up with some old school Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Higher Ground,” which totally made me think of this:
…and pushed me on for another mile. You KNOW I love me some Jodi Sawyer.
My run was fueled by a lovely purple monster that I whipped up for breakfast this morning, containing: spinach, strawberries, half a banana, frozen blueberries, almond milk, and chocolate Amazing Grass powder. Yum!
After showering and cleaning up, I got started on some lunch. I wanted tacos, but I wanted them to be different..I’ve been eating a lot of tacos lately!
I decided to saute up some veggies to have inside my tacos. In some olive oil, I cooked up zucchini, yellow squash, red onion, and orange bell pepper (taste the rainbow challenge—what, what!), along with a shake of garlic salt and chili powder:
As I cooked, I snacked on some Kashi crackers, and I was SUPER excited to find this GIANT cracker:
Yep, that’s what gets me excited. Giant Kashi crackers.
Once the veggies were done, I threw them into a few blue tacos, along with some lettuce, avocado, grape tomatoes, and white cheddar. YUM!
Enjoyed with a side of Seth Cohen:

The original emo kid.
Now I’m trying to decide what I want to do with the rest of my afternoon. I could get some more work done on my gradebooks…or I could take a nap.
See you tonight!

chocolate and bloobs sounds so good
Oh gosh I used to LOVE the OC too!!
I never really watched The OC, but I do like that song.
Yummy tacos. Makes me want Mexican food!
Center Stage! I just thought of that when I went to the ballet this weekend.
Oh The OC!! Good times, I LOVED that show!! Seth was always my favourite, and I hated Summer
I love your exploding tacos- they’re tasty looking!
OMG I got so excited when I saw your headline – sad you won’t be coming to Cali after all
On our drive across the country, G and I played that song like over and over again everytime we crossed and state line and sang along at the top of our lungs.
Oh the O.C.! I fought it for so long, but when I fell, I fell hard. I love, love, love, the Christmakuh soundtrack. (No shame.)
Keep up the good work with the TTR challenge!
Go for the nap….haha! Happy Monday Anna!
omg center stage!!!!! love it.
The purple monster looks great! And I LOVE that you served it in a fancy glass!
Have a great night <3
Haha I loved the OC! So close to home!
Seriously went downhill in the last season… I believe Ryan was supposed to go to Berkeley for college (that’s where I went! Remember being excited about that… and wondering how he managed to get in…)
Shreveport, LA is SO MUCH better than any of those ratty old California cities! Can’t wait!
Your tacos and purple monster looks delish. I need to get in on the smoothie and juice action…I need a VITAMIX!
I so admire you for running on the treadmill! I wish I liked it just a little.
The OC is such an addicting show! Love it!
Hope you enjoyed that nap!
Ahhh I can’t believe you mentioned both the OC and Center Stage in this post! I was obsessed with both back in the day! Have a great night
Awesome treadmill run! And those tacos are really “taste the rainbow”!
this:zucchini, yellow squash, red onion, and orange bell pepper looks sooo good!
the RHW of OC!! oh yeah baby, love all the HW’s,and I think OC is my fave
How do you like that chocolate Amazing grass? It doesn`t sound too appealing to me.
I like it in smoothies, but I wouldn’t just drink it with milk or water…I like it when it’s blended up with a lot of other fruit
those tacos look delish! Way better than my taco disaster from last night
Hahaha this is SO hilarious! Great minds think alike indeed!
Sigh, I will forever love nerdy/geek/indie kids like Seth Cohen.
Oh my god Anna!! The youtube clip just appeared (lame slow computer!) and I can’t believe that you know Center Stage! I love that cheesy film!! That guy from Russia cracks me up all the time and I loved Zoe Saldana in it!
Um, Karin, I am OBSESSED with Center Stage. I used to watch it every other day in college, for real.
In grad school, I was friends with a guy who danced with Amanda Schull in the San Fran ballet, and he got SO tired of me constantly asking him about her
