Baby Poop
Hey guys! I thought I’d post this morning because A.) I don’t know when I’ll be able to post throughout the day, and B.) I tried something new for breakfast, so I wanted to share!
My breakfast this morning looked eerily similar to something I encountered quite often when my job was taking care of this cool dude:
Here we are at our “rehearsal dinner” Cheeseburgers in Paradise party, the night before my wedding:
His dad (Ryan’s bff) was our minister! (Please excuse the hair; it was the Caribbean.)
Anywho, last spring, I was a diaper changing champ, and I gotta say, this breakfast was strangely reminiscent of…well, you know:
Looks pretty gross, right? But it tasted delicious! That’s 1/2 cup oats, mixed with a cup of unsweetened almond milk, 1 tbsp. of chia seeds, and half a package of this bad boy:
Vega powder! I’ve been wanting to try some, so I finally picked up some single packets the other day to give them a whirl. It turned my oats pale green! This was the vanilla chai flavor, which was mildly sweet, but contained no sugar (score!). Check out the nutritional stats:
Pretty good, right?
This breakfast looks gross, but the taste was great—a little sweet, with a definite “chai spice” flavor coming through. Plus—sugar free! What, what!
Okay. Now I need to go pack. That’s right—why pack last night when I had free time when I could sit on my ass all night watching The Office and save it for this morning when I’m rushed and stressed out? That’s called logic, my friends.
Oh, and if you’re wondering…Will and I still see each other, even though we’ve moved away.
His parents live in DC, so we got to visit them a few times this fall, and are hoping to go back down soon.
Sweet reunion:
What a guy!
Okay…I’m off! See you tonight, if not sooner! Hope my flight goes okay…it’s snowing out there! Eek!

As long as it tasted good, that’s all that matters. I’ve been curious about the Vega as well. May need to give it a shot.
I have been wanting to try Vega powders, where did you pick it up? I need to get on this super-oatmeal bandwagon =)
They have it just in our small natural food store in Altoona! I was pleased to see it there!
I haven’t tried any of the Vega powders yet.. I thought maybe I give it a try for one my long rides…
What a cutie! Makes me miss the little boy I babysat for in college so much!
Omg… I’m sure it tasted delicious, but BABY POOP?! lol Thank you for the morning giggles. I’ve been wanting to try that food optimizer, they don’t have the little packets at my WF right now, just the cannisters that are like, $50 and I’m cut off from the inner aisles of WF right now, after checking the budget.
Also interested in chia seeds! Are you a fan? Use them often?
I know!! I was glad that they had the individual packets…I wouldn’t shell out 50 bucks for a big tub either!
He is too cute!!! And yeah.. looks pretty gross but hey, if it tastes good, that’s what’s important. And I imagine that will keep you full for a while!
Have a good flight!
have a safe trip! can’t wait to read more about it soon
P.S. baby poop sounds pretty gross, but my husband says all the time that hummus looks like baby poop…mmm
I’ve wanted to try some Vega products!! I think I’ve seen them at Whole Foods?
What a cute baby
It’s so fun that you had a Carribbean wedding! The little guy is too cute. Some of the best foods look absolutely disgusting, I agree! I’m currently eating a bowl of pumpkin quinoa that my roommate looks repulsed by, but it’s absolutely delicious! Such a good idea to add Vega to oatmeal, by the way…I have a few packages I should try that with!
Vanilla chai flavor sounds awesome! Have a great trip
Such a cute little baby!
Your hair looks fabulous…when I went to Turks and Caicos last year my hair was a complete disaster. I couldn’t do a single thing to it so I just gave up!!
We went to the Turks and Caicos on our honeymoon!!! I kept my hair slicked back in a ponytail the entire time
I actually think that breakfast looks awesome!!! Where do you find the Vega Powder?
Hey Kelly! I found it just at our small natural food store!
Will is adorable! I made oatmeal this morning that looked gross and was also quite delicious! Strawberry jam saves pretty much any meal
I’ve made raw chocolate mousse and soft serve that didn’t look much better
But it tasted good and that’s what counts. Interesting on the Vega powder, I’ll have to look into that. Cute pics!
Good luck on the flight, these pics are so cute!
Adorable little one!!!!
Stay outta the snow.. have a safe flight!
I hope you’re making it down here okay. I’m going to be in Ruston all weekend, so close to you!
I’ll be back in March for a longer trip– we’ll definitely meet up!!!
Lmao! I love the title of this post, it definitely caught my attention. xD I have to agree that the breakfast looks a little gnar.. I was staring at it for a second and feeling a bit queasy.. lol. I’m glad it tasted better than it looks!
Will is freaking adorable! Kids like him make me want to be a mom.. until the tantrums emerge.
What an adorable baby! I can’t get over how cute he is!
Safe travels!
Looks can be decieving! I have learned that too since going veg hehe
what a graet ide to mix the vega with oats!! I have some that I got at the vegetarian food fest I should use it like that!!! great idea, thank youuu havea safe trip!
Awww what a cute little guy! Safe travels
LOL, it does look like… you know what!
Have a wonderful time!
I agree, it looks terrible, but as long as it tastes good who cares?! I hadn’t heard of that vanilla chai vega mix, but now I want to try it. Or a variation. Our budget it limited.
In any case, the little one is adorable. It’s worth saying.
But your hair DOES look gorgeous!
Ugly food is often the best. Me loves it.
I wish we could get the Vega products over here!!
