Make Up Your Mind!!!
Hey guys! As usual, I’m rushing today, but this time I have an excuse: the weather has gone completely crazy on me!
It was snowing when we woke up this morning, but then it calmed down for a while. Around 10:30, I hopped on the treadmill for a workout. I did 5 miles—two miles longer than I usually do on the treadmill, so that was good (especially after last night’s “healthy” post-dinner treat). Then, when I finished up with my workout, I looked outside and the weather was CRAZY! It looked like a blizzard outside! Plus, they kept flashing “weather advisory warning” across the television!. This, combined with the fact that I am a total cold weather wuss (being from Louisiana and all), combined with the fact that my students are just peer editing for their first papers today, all added up to the fact that I was leaning towards cancelling class.
BUT, every time I started to send out an e-mail cancelling class, the weather seemed to calm down a bit! I was going back, and forth, and back and forth. Finally, I decided to hop in the shower just in case. When I got back out, the sky was blue, the wind was gone—it looked like a lovely day!
So, long story short, I did not cancel class, but now I’m running extra late due to my internal debate!
Thus, lunch was lame:
Ezekial pita with hummus and bell peppers, Mary’s Gone Crackers, carrots, and an apple (can you tell we’re running low on groceries?):
I’ll be packing a snack today for sure!
Hope you’re having a great Thursday—is it really almost the weekend again already? This week flew by for me!
See you tonight!

I would LOVE to have that kind of power to cancel class! You’re so good for having class!
It is nice…but it’s also awfully tempting!!! Anytime I feel a little tired or the weather is bad, I think, “Do we REALLY need to have class today?”
I know all about being a weather wuss being from the South as well! We MAY get ice here tonight into tomorrow and I promise you that the shelves at the grocery stores are bare!!!
lol– when I was home in Louisiana over Christmas, they were supposed to get a “light sprinkling” of snow– like 1/2 an inch at the MOST, and everyone went CRAZY!!! All the grocery store shelves were bare. And then the snow didn’t even come!!! So funny.
Crazy weather!

Lunch looks fine to me! I sometimes also throw super simple stuff together and it works.
I need to go running ASAP!
I could live on Ezekiel pitas.. honestly. LOVE EM!!
Be careful out there in that crazy PA weather.. blah
YAy almost the weekend, thats exciting in itself!!! i still have yet to try the ezekial pitas! they look awesome thouggh!
That’s a beautiful looking meal! We’re low on groceries too but you picked healthier food than I did!
How funny is your internal debate? I have those all the time too.
Lunch looks great, even if you have no groceries! I couldn’t tell.
Same thing happened to me! I walked to my 10:00am class, it was cold but not bad, I even unzipped my coat half way to campus. Then when I walked out the building to go to the gym at 11:30am it looked like a blizzard had struck!!
Crazy weather! Seriously. Yesterday it was 75 degrees here (I am in Austin, TX) and I was in flips flops and shorts. Then BAM today it is raining and the high is 40! Sheesh…Mother Nature is a fickle pickle these days!
Even your running late meals look tasty!
good for you for still doing that!! have fun at class! it will be worth it!!
Oh god, weather delays and to cancel or not…story of my childhood and early adult yrs in MN and IL! Hang in there!
Ha it was a lot like that in Boston today! I went into the gym and the sun was setting and when I came out of the gym it was a blizzard! I had my capris on and it was not pleasant!
What a delightful vegetarian lunch plate!
The weather HAS been bizarre today! I left work and it was a little sunny, then I left the gym an hour later and there was a blizzard! I hope your class went well and you didn’t get caught up in any crazy New England-y mess =) Also, where did you find Ezekial pita!?
It’s crazy here, too! It’s a mystery as to how we haven’t lost power yet! Good thing, though!
I bet your students were really hoping you would cancel class! Did you have low attendance?
