Fast and Furious

January 21, 2010

Hey guys! Like all Tuesday and Thursday lunch posts, this one has gotta be quick!

And lunch was just that: quick!

Man, that juice was good this morning, but it DID NOT hold me over like oatmeal usually does!  At 10, I had a half of a Lara bar for a snack, and then at 11:30, my stomach was GROWLING.  LOUDLY.  Haha…my stomach is super loud when I’m hungry—it sounds like there’s an animal in there or something!  I think it might be louder than the average tummy.

At 12, I broke for lunch and made a quick, delicious wrap:

Spinach, sprouts, and cheese, microwaved and then topped with a blob of hummus:

On the side, I had some Mary’s Gone Crackers curry twigs and stems, plus some pickles.  Random sides, I know, but I figured I got enough fruit in this morning!  Didn’t want to overload on the fiber, if you know what I mean.  ;-)

Delish! I’m packing some sort of a bar as a snack for later on between classes.

Hope your Thursday is going swimmingly well!

Much love!

Juice wouldn’t cut it for me either! I would be starving!
I’ve had some hard core fiber intake the past week (well over 40g per day eek!). I need to cool it!

There is no way liquid, no matter how thick, would hold me over. I’m also one who likes to chew my food in order to “feel” like I’ve actually eaten. I know that the juice is supposed to be super healthy though. Maybe you’ll just have to have that as a side to a much lighter breakfast?

I usually have to team my smoothies up with toast or granola to give it a little more lasting power. Those curry twigs look tasty!

I love pickles. My problem with them is that I can’t stop. They’re like a snacky food in my hands. Go figure. I can make anything unhealthy lol.

Yeah, I can’t really see juice holding me over either. Smoothies do but not juice, probably due to the texture and such.
I loooooooooove pickles! Last week I had pickles for the first time in about 2 years, if not more. I stopped eating them because of the sodium but I’ve knocked some sense into myself. ;)

hmmm must be soy cheese? ;) Hope you had an awesome bday – sure looked fun! I posted a comment with my tips on juicing. I’m no expert by any means – I just got mine in Sept for MY bday. No worries, juice will NOT last me for more than 2 hours max.
