Any Paula Abdul fans out there?

As is the case with most Tuesdays and Thursdays, I am RUSHING to get out the door, so this will be a drive-by post.

Ryan and I went to the gym first thing this morning.  I used to do this a lot last year, when I was nannying from 8-3, and then teaching at 4.  But, with a more leisurely schedule this year, most of my gym trips have been mid to late morning.  I kind of forgot how much I like going first thing—it’s a great way to start the day, and our gym was EMPTY this morning—literally, for a while it was just me and Ryan! Crazy!

But, going to the gym first thing meant a later breakfast, which means that I’m not starving right now for lunch, but I know that I need to eat because it will be 3:55 before I get a break again.

So, point is, I kept lunch kind of small and will be packing a snack for later on in the day!

My lunch included these:

Have you tried them?  I enjoyed it—definitely a pronounced veggie flavor.  And it reminds me of some other food SO MUCH, and I cannot for the life of me put my finger on it.  I’ll think of it some day!

The ingredients seemed pretty non-scary:

Instead of eating mine as a burger, I mashed it up so that it was more of a spread on my Ezekial tortilla:

Then topped it with a big handful of spinach and sprouts, and had some carrots on the side:

Delicious and nutritious!

Going to the gym so early made me think about how different my life was this time last year—that nannying job was a first for me, and I was really worried going into it that I might not enjoy it (8-3 is a long time with a baby!), but I ended up LOVING it.  I miss it! The baby I stayed with is the child of our good friends (the guy actually performed our wedding ceremony), and they live in DC now, so we still get to see them, but it’s not the same! That baby and I got to know each other pretty well, and I still miss him all the time.

Do you have jobs that you miss?

Have a great day, guys! See you at suppa-time!

It was a smart move to mush the Dr. burger. I’ve had them before and they just do not hold up well

    Perfect lunch for ketchup dunking!
I used to babysit two girls–the youngest was 5 months when I started and we had the most amazing bond. It’s really incredible how close you can get to someone elses kids.

Never seen that veggie burger brand before. I’ve also never thought to smash them for a wrap – thanks for that tip!

I love Dr. P’s burgers!!! I ate them with Ezekiel wraps a couple months ago (deja vu!!). Aren’t they tasty and natural?

Oh how I wish I could get myself to the gym in the morning – I tried today and failed miserably. The veggie burger wrap looks like a great idea!

I admit, I am a Paula fan! The veggie burger looks delicious!!!!!!!! I wish I liked early morning workouts — mid-morning would be my preference : )

oh my goodness… you totally just reminded me of how embarrassing I used to be. I definitely sang/lip-synched to this song standing on my bed waaaay too many times to count, pretending that some boy was pining after me. Ah, to be 10 again.

I don’t miss any of my old jobs :) Except maybe my last clerkship, bc my fiance and I worked together and I got to see him every day before the Navy shipped him away. We’ll be reunited soon though! :)

    Your wrap looks good.

I miss my job before my current job… still the same thing process engineer but loved the people and type of projects that i was working on.

I miss my old entire life…currently in life crisis…physically, mentally, and financially…so I miss a lot. Acceptance is the most difficult thing to do. A balance of acceptance and some kind of hope or wonder.
Those Dr. Prager burgers look great on ezekiel tortilla. Great stuff!
