Quite the Collection

January 18, 2010

Good afternoon, folks!  Hope you’re having a great day off, if you get the holiday, and a bearable regular ol’ Monday otherwise.

Our morning went by quickly—I wrote for about an hour, caught up and chatted with my mom (my parents went down to a wedding in New Orleans this weekend—sounds like they had a blast), ran some errands for the house, and came back just in time for lunch!  We woke up (and thus ate breakfast) earlier this morning, so by the time 12:00 rolled around, I was really hungry!

My lunch was a deconstructed Ezekial wrap topped with hummus, greens, avocado (I know it looks gross and brown but I promise it was still good), and a tiny little nub of tempeh, crumpled (the last of it).  I also had an ENORMOUS pink lady, and half of a pb Clif bar for dessert.

Easy, fast, and satisfying:

Remember how I told you guys yesterday about my vintage juice glass collection?

Well, here they are!

I know it’s a weird thing to collect, but I can’t help it—I love them!

Here are the new glasses that I picked up yesterday at the antique mall:

These happy cow jelly jar glasses cracked me up.  I told Ryan that he’s only allowed to drink from them on the days that he eats vegetarian ;-)

What a happy cow!

In addition to my new glasses, I also got this cute baby silverware!  Two spoons and a fork:

Aren’t they pretty?

Don’t they say that eating with small utensils slows down your eating?  We shall see!

Do you collect anything (or do you think I’m a total weirdo for collecting these glasses, like my hub?)?

Have a great Monday!  See ya for dinner!

Those glasses are really cute! I don’t think you’re weird at all, haha. I don’t collect anything but my Mom is such a pack rat that I think I tend toward the opposite just because I don’t want to end up keeping everything I get :-D

I loveeeeeeeeeee baby spoons! They are the cutest!!

Normally if I saw a glass collection like that…….IM GOING TO BE PERFECTLY HONEST, I would probably be like what?! But ON THE REAL, you have really pretty and adorable ones, and the fact that you have so many makes it super cute!! (Most people probably have really cheap, plastic, and cracked looking ones- which is why normally I’d probably think it to be fairly unattractive! yours are the OPPOSITE!) I love how each day you could be drinking out of a different cup! Great for entertaining too! Love it! seriously.

and mmmmmmmmmm cado cado! avocado makes the world go round!! and yes, THAT PINK LADY IS HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

    HAPPY MONDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

What a fun collection! I love that!! I have an addiction for coffee mugs! I like to find really unique ones at thrift shops and garage sales. It is fun to see what other people consider “junk” and what I consider “treasures!”

What a cool collection! I have a ton of kid things I used to collect. And I love using smaller spoons. I don’t think it decreases my portions because my oatmeal bowl is just as big as are prepackaged chobani but it sure makes it more fun to eat!

i LOVE seeing what others collect, its what makes you unique! I have seen people collect the stangest items and I dont think any of it is wierd. Its a hobby!! the glasses are SO cute! no day off for me, but I am already done for the day because my day started at 5am!

the vintage juice glass collection just brought tears to my eyes…in the best possible way. Why? B/c both my grandmas had the most amazing 50s-70s juice glasses and now, god only knows where they are. My mother sold eeverything off in garage sales 10 yrs ago and now as a truly adult woman, who both loves to cook/uncook and has a child of my own, I am soooo bummed that I will never have these treasures. Please enjoy yours, for me :)

  13. January 18, 2010 9:28 pm

i absolutely love your collection! i would love to drink anything out of those fun cute glasses.

  14. January 18, 2010 9:53 pm

I think the glasses are great! How fun. If i could, I would collect dishes like nobody’s business. I am a keeper of hardback books. I pretty much refuse to buy a paperback. Totally irrational. But I must have hardbacks.
